“I’ll follow you, Lord, but first let me…”

It’s exactly where we’ve gone wrong.

For too long, even our Christian culture has been characterized by men with one foot in the world and one foot in God’s calling. We’ve tried to keep everyone happy, to play the “please everyone” game, and guess what? The game is over.

Jesus never asked for half-measures. He said if your hand is on the plow, you don’t look back. Elisha didn’t just step away from his old life — he set it on fire. He made it impossible to return.

Watch this week’s call to action:

As I write this, it’s been almost two weeks since Charlie Kirk was assassinated. I held off on writing this because I didn’t trust my gut reaction to be the godly one or even the right one.

So, it’s all been on simmer. And I’ve had the voices of many godly and wiser men in my ears during that time.

And here’s what become clear during the time of listening and reflection - it’s time for us to wake up. We may have thought we were awake before, but no. We’d allowed ourselves to be lulled to sleep.

But many of us are awake now. And to our shame, we’re discovering that we’ve only been living in luke warm mode. That time is past. It must be. And it never should have existed in the first place.

It’s time to live fully — no hesitation

This isn’t just about religious talk. This is about being the men God called us to be in every domain of life — starting at home. We lead our families with strength and tenderness. We love our wives, we raise our children, and we fight fiercely to protect and provide for them. We step into our churches and our communities not as men trying to win popularity contests, but as men who serve with grace, mercy, and unflinching faithfulness.

The time for half-in, people-pleasing is over.

Step into the calling with both gentleness and fierceness

If you’re going to follow Jesus, follow Him fully. That means we no longer measure our steps by the opinions of others. We lead our businesses, our workplaces, and our relationships with the same gentleness Jesus showed and the same fierceness He commands.

Burn the plows. There’s no room left for looking back.

Let’s be men who choose to please God above all else — with the boldness to stand, the compassion to love, and the strength to lead.

Jesus never said it would be easy. He said it could cost us everything.

So if you’re going to follow Him…

Burn the plows.

And don’t look back.

To thriving,

Zach
